If you’ve spent any time around our farm, you’ve probably heard us talk about grass-fed beef. It’s not a marketing buzzword to us—it’s simply how we believe cattle should be raised.
Our cattle spend their lives grazing open pastures, moving through fresh grass as the seasons change. This approach allows them to express their natural behaviors while helping us care for the land that supports them. Healthy soil grows healthy grass, healthy grass feeds healthy cattle, and healthy cattle produce quality beef. It’s a cycle we’ve come to appreciate more with every passing year.
Raising grass-fed beef isn’t always the easiest path. Growth takes longer, weather has a bigger impact, and pasture management requires constant attention. During the heat of summer, we’re monitoring water sources and forage conditions. In the spring, we’re planning grazing rotations. Even in the winter, we’re thinking ahead to the next growing season.
The reward is knowing exactly how our cattle are raised and being able to share that story with the families who purchase our beef. More and more people want to understand where their food comes from, and we believe that’s a good thing. Food should have a story, and that story should be transparent.
One of the biggest misconceptions about farming is that every day looks the same. In reality, no two weeks are alike. Some mornings start before sunrise repairing a fence. Other days are spent moving cattle to fresh pasture or checking on calves. There is always something to learn, and nature has a way of keeping us humble.
As we launch this blog, we hope to give you a behind-the-scenes look at life on the farm. We’ll share seasonal updates, cattle care practices, pasture management tips, and honest conversations about agriculture. Whether you’re a longtime customer or simply curious about how grass-fed beef is raised, we’re glad you’re here.
Thank you for following along with our journey.
See you out in the pasture.
